Short Courses – Dressage / Jumping / Cross Country – Experienced Riders
These 3-session courses support established riders improve and hone their technique in dressage, show jumping and cross country jumping.
All 3 sessions are on the simulator ( our other courses mix school horse and simulator sessions) and give riders the opportunity of a level of riding they may not have access to.
When riders own their own horse, they need to keep up their confidence levels for his own development and training. Riders who only ever ride the same horse will get into habits and their horses will learn to cope. The simulator will support those riders to become more aware of fine tuning their skill and balance to help them ride more correctly. Horses cannot tell us our faults, they are stoic and try to carry on even if we as riders are lopsided or insensitive to them.
The simulator will help riders understand if they are ahead of their horses’s centre of gravity over fences, or behind the movement – it will improve a riders balance over small and larger fences – de risking jumping and improving rider skill. Being aware of ourselves helps us to improve and benefits our own horses.
Dressage £189
Session 1 | Simulator - Riders will have data feedback of their own flat work balance. They can then work to fine tune and perfect that in the Simulator's 40x20 or 60x20 arena. |
Session 2 | Simulator – Riders will work on movements they would like to focus on; from leg yield, flying change, piaffe, passage, half pass, shoulder in, collected, and extended work. The spook free schoolmaster will help refine riders aids and balance to become more effective in their ask. |
Session 3 | Simulator – Riders can choose test riding to perfect bringing these movements together under test conditions, or they can continue to develop their flat technique, and movements to improve their balance and accuracy. |
Show Jumping £189
Session 1 | Simulator – Taking riders up the paces through a gymnastic grid which will continuously analyse and feedback balance and position. The grid distances, and fence height will be altered to suit the riders level as they progress |
Session 2 | Simulator – riders will jump around a warm-up arena of fences and work to perfect timing, approaches, and balance. Unlike the grid work, in this session the horse’s canter will need to be always maintained by the rider – which can be challenging – the Simulator horse does not “take the rider” to the fence. The final approach is where riders often take the leg off – the Simulator will help riders to keep it on. |
Session 3 | Simulator – Course jumping - riders will return to their course jumping to work to improve from their last session, using the data the simulator can provide. Riders will come away with a greater awareness of their strongest and weakest areas, and improvement in skill and technique at their own level. The simulator will jump up to 110cm |
Cross Country £189
Session 1 | Simulator – Taking riders up the paces through a gymnastic pole grid which will continuously analyse and feedback balance and position. Moving on to cross country warm-up fences once they have the feel of their new horse. |
Session 2 | Simulator – jumping techniques – riders will jump through cross country warm-up again, and work to perfect timing, approaches, and balance. Unlike the grid work jumping mode, the Simulator horse does not “take the rider” to the fence in the warm-up arena. The final approach is where riders often take the leg off – the Simulator will help riders to keep it on. |
Session 3 | Simulator – Course jumping - riders will jump a cross country course of chosen height working to improve from their last session, using the data the simulator can provide. Riders will come away with a greater awareness of their strongest and weakest areas, and improvement in skill and technique at their own level. The simulator will jump up to 110cm |
