Equestrian Facilities
We aim to provide a unique experience at our equestrian centre – for existing horse owners, those wanting to get back into riding, and for those wanting to learn to ride who are taking their very first steps into this exciting sport.
Human and equine comforts are equally important to us. Of course, care of the horse for our livery and riding school customers is paramount, enjoyment of this lifestyle is essential!
BHS Highly Commended Riding School
We provide high quality, professional instruction in our riding school in a safe environment and a congenial atmosphere with happy, trained and motivated staff. We will endeavour to cater for any standard of client, enabling all ages and abilities direct access to this superb sport and leisure activity. The welfare of our horses is at the heart of everything we do here, meeting their needs is paramount so they have varied and happy lives.
BHS Highly Commended Livery Yard
The centre has 27 livery boxes ranging in size, this is comprised of an American barn with 18 stables, and a further 9 outdoor livery boxes. Our hot & cold wash down works well all year round for bathing and washing, we have indoor clipping and farrier bays, a Monarch solarium, washing machine and numnah drying room. There are five fitted secure tack rooms, rug rooms and a large feed room. The onsite shop provides access to hot and cold drinks and snacks, and the Livery Comfy Lounge is a great place to sit and relax whilst your fury friend finishes his tea!
Riding Arenas
We have a 40m x 40m all weather outdoor arena which has competition level lighting, as well as a 40 x 60m all weather outdoor arena with dressage mirrors – both arenas have an Andrews Bowen sand and fibre mix surface. We have access to an indoor school over the wettest months of the year, and during the dry months of the year our grass dressage and grass showjumping paddocks are in use.
Show Jumps & Jumping
We have a comprehensive range of show jumps which are used in regular events through the summer in our seasonal grass show jump field.
Cross country course
We have a BE standard cross country schooling course consisting of a variety of jumps and logs all fixed according to BE safety regulations. The facility is available for hire to non riding centre horse riders, please contact us for hire.
Jumping Field & Grass Dressage
A seasonal jumping field with show jumps provides further scope for sporting activities and events, we also have a seasonal grass dressage arena, these facilities are for our livery clients only – the combination of cross country, showjumping and dressage on the grass makes us popular for event training and wanting to move into Eventing.
On Site Hacking
We have on site hacking around our own fields , and private access to the rear of our property allowing riding out to quiet lanes. We have a hard track though the main cross country field, which softens in winter, and lends itself well as a winter canter track for faster work to take place instead of fields (which can become too deep for such work.)
Viewing Areas
A covered viewing area and outdoor decking, where you can enjoy drinks and snacks, allows you as well as your friends and family to watch as well as take part in the sport.
Racewood Eventing Simulator
Our horse riding simulator is a rapid development tool, enabling riders to understand a picture of their riding. Learning to understand what specific pressures a rider is subjecting a real horse to – we have range of courses and lessons wich can be booked. Some riders can hold too tight with one hand and never be aware of this – or the effect it has on their horse. Other riders can be twisted in the pelvis – blocking their horse from moving correctly. Many riders can sit in a manner making themselves heavy to carry, knocking the horse off balance. When riders become aware of how they are riding using scientific data – this supports raipid development, helping riders to improve more quickly.
Grazing
Our 52 acres of grazing has a maintenance programme to ensure we can accommodate year round turn out. We are set in 92 acres of land and we use much of this for making our own hay, and our BE standard cross country schooling course. Through winter months our horses switch to hard turnout to enable them to get outside even during the wettest winters.

The local network facilitates miles of hacking in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside near Swindon, North Wiltshire.
