Alex Benfield is doing a sponsored ride on 15th April 2017 for Hoof Club CIC. The funds raised will go towards arena mirrors to aid development of riding skills and boost confidence in riding. Visual aids are a tremendous help in training skills especially for those that lack confidence, are just starting to ride, or experienced riders that want to improve.
Alex will be riding 10 horses, non stop, for 45 minutes each, making at total riding time of nearly 8 hours.

Arena mirrors benefit riders in the following ways:
To boost confidence in the arena - the rider can see what the trainer sees
To make sure the rider is sitting correctly in the saddle
To check the aids given are correct
To make sure the horse works to a correct outline
To check if movements are ridden correctly
To check if the horse is straight when riding diffferent movements
To check the accuracy of lateral work
To check if the horse is working correctly through its back
To check if the hind legs are properly engaged
To check if the rein contact is even
