Why this would benefit you

This will suit owners who don’t have the time to come to the yard daily or work their horse to its needs and fitness levels. Your horse will receive the best care 24 x 7 and will be used in the Riding School in accordance with its personality and carrying capacity. Horses on a working livery will be used for the appropriate lessons and hacks in the Riding School up to 8 hours per week.

You still have the ability to come and ride and fuss your horse daily and with a Full Livery service at your disposal. There is no need to come to the yard unless you want to.

The work levels will always be subject to horse suitability and decided by the Yard Manager.

Owners will agree to set days the horse is to be used in the Riding School. If owners wish to change the days at least 48 hours notice must be given.

It is strongly suggested that horses on a Working Livery are given one day off per week.

Owners have no say on who rides their horse when it is used by the Riding School, and cannot remove their horse from work during its allocated days.

What does the owner do . . . ?

Owners need to pay for farrier, dentist and vet directly, we do not pay for these services. Wormers and worm counts will be added to the bill. There is a charge for fetching in and standing with the horse for these items.

Owners need to provide any supplements the horse may require.

Owners need to provide properly fitting tack. We will not be able to use any horse under this agreement if tack is deemed by the Yard Manager to be unsafe or ill-fitting.

We will feed your horse 7 days per week and administer those feeds so that all horses are fed at the normal routine times.

Demonstrable up-to-date vaccinations of all new horses need to be made available before being brought to the stables.

All livery owners will enter into a Buryhill Livery Contract which lays out the parameters of the relationship.

All horses become absorbed into the yard worming policy which is Worm Egg Count (WEC) driven - the yard management will lead this and ensure all horses are WEC and wormed where appropriate.
